I started working in the Stag Bar in Arbroath on Saturday nights, where the payment back then as much beer as you could drink! ;¬) I moved on the Malacca Bar where I worked for a number of years (Anybody remember the Sunday nights? – the best!). Whilst in the Malacca, I happened to notice in the Arbroath Herald (the local rag) there was a new DJ playing; somebody called Jivin’ Jim. I had to phone Davie Fairweather, the owner, to find who this “Jivin’ Jim” was. I found out it was me, and the name stuck!

I enjoyed it so much, I eventually decided to branch out out my own because Lynda and I decided to rescue rabbits.

In 1994, I bought Lynda her first rabbit, “Annie”, who unfortunately died after only a year. It took us a while to get over it, but we got Missi, who was in a pet shop in Perth. She lived for around four years, but she had all sorts of problems which made us look into helping and caring for other rabbits, of which Daisy was the first.

This started C.A.R.R.O.T. All of the proceeds from my DJ-ing are ploughed back into caring for between 30 and 40 rabbits.

Thankfully I thoroughly enjoy what I do, and I hope I bring a great deal of pleasure and fun to everyone I meet.
